Gwent Team Challenge  St. Mellons - 2nd July 2006

An excellent days golf was held over the St. Mellons course on a beautiful summers day. Five teams were present in the event, St. Mellons, Dewstow, Gwent Under 14s, Gwent Under 16s and the Gwent Golf Union Academy. All teams performed admirably, and the final outcome could not have been closer, with the Under 14 team defeating the Academy by a single point. Running alongside the match was an individual stableford event which saw victory for Michael Griffiths (GGU Academy) beating Alex Price (Under 14s) on countback with 40 points off three-quarters handicap.
