Gwent Under 14s v Dyfed Under 14s

On a lovely late Spring day over the Parc course, the Gwent Under 14 team scored their first victory in a competitive inter-counties match despite being crushed in the morning foursomes. The afternoon singles was another matter however, which saw a comprehensive victory in the singles matches for Gwent.
Home youngster Robert Smith (Parc) made his county debut and performed admirably, narrowly losing his foursomes match but winning his singles tie. Again the team was led by Daniel Gizzi (Newport) who again showed excellent leadership attributes which has seen the side grow into a strong unit.
A big thank you must go to Martin Hardean who managed the Gwent side on the day and to Dai Lindquist for bringing his young Dyfed side down for the match. Also thanks must go to the Parc Golf Club for granting the club facilities for the match and to Peter Elias (Parc, Junior Organiser) for arranging the fixture.
The day was concluded with a meal and thank-you speeches from both sets of players and officials.
